A room built to make the right calls
A great mix doesn't rely on the engineer's ear alone — it depends on the accuracy of the room. Studio d'Estrade's suite was designed to deliver a coherent, stable and faithful sound image, so every mixing decision translates for the listener, whatever playback system they use. This precision comes from a configuration of 11 identical ADAM Audio S3H monitors, paired with two Meyer Sound subwoofers, in a certified 62 m² suite.
Why eleven identical speakers?
In many immersive control rooms, the ceiling or surround speakers are smaller than the front ones. At Studio d'Estrade, all eleven speakers are strictly identical, to guarantee tonal and spatial consistency across the entire sound field.

A mixing room is not a demo showroom. Every piece of equipment was chosen to improve mixing decisions — never to impress.

Recognised expertise
Experience makes the difference
Simon Derasse
For more than forty years, Simon Derasse has worked alongside artists, producers and directors on music, film and television projects.
Throughout his career, he has worked in some of Paris's most renowned recording studios, developing an approach where technical mastery always serves artistic intent.
A composer, arranger and full member of SACEM (the French authors' and composers' society), he brings two complementary perspectives to every project: that of a sound engineer and that of a musician.
A career built around music
He studied at music schools and conservatories in Nice and Marseille — trombone, sight-reading, music theory, harmony and music history — and decided early on to pursue a professional career in music.
A freelance sound engineer for many years, he has worked with several studios that shaped the history of recording in France, including Guillaume Tell, Davout, Ferber and Artistic Palace.
Equally at ease mixing film scores, pop and jazz, he brought fresh energy to live recording in Parisian jazz clubs in the late 1990s, adding a new colour to the genre.
Experience isn't about repeating the same recipe. It's about choosing the right approach for every project.

Because a great mix starts with great listening
An 18th-century estate, twenty-five hectares of nature
Studio d'Estrade is set within an 18th-century property, surrounded by twenty-five hectares of nature.
This isn't an aesthetic choice. It serves one simple purpose: creating an environment where nothing interferes with critical listening.
Far from urban noise, concentration remains uninterrupted and every sonic detail can be judged with precision.
Here, you don't just come to finish a project. You come to give it all the attention it deserves.
